At the heart of Colman’s food philosophy is a passion for natural ingredients sourced from UK farms. Whilst you may know them for their iconic English mustard, their mint sauce is an overlooked gem that can elevate midweek meals and Sunday roasts alike.

Colman’s Mint Sauce: From Farm to Fork

While on the hunt for the most full-flavoured mint they could find, Colman’s discovered the perfect choice right under their noses! They ended up going with the variety growing in Colman’s then Crop Manager’s own garden. This was way back in the 1960’s and today Colman’s still sources their mint from farms in Norfolk, all thanks to farmer David Bond.

When new fields of mint are required, they are established using cuttings from the original plant. This ensures that Colman’s Mint Sauce always retains the same delectable mint flavour. In fact, the 4th generation of farmers is currently tending to the same plants cared for by previous generations. These farmers are experts when it comes to tending to their crop, they know exactly the right time to harvest their leaves. The mint grown on David’s farm, is processed within one hour of being picked, ensuring that its full natural flavour is retained.

We all know that a lamb roast is not complete without a generous helping of mint sauce, but why stop there? Colman’s Mint Sauce is a delight mixed in with Greek yogurt and used as a dip. It can also be used in salad dressings, sandwiches and even in cocktails.
