Ingredients

  • 400g tin chickpeas
  • 1/2 tsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp garlic puree

Method

  1. Open the tin of chickpeas and drain, pour the chickpeas into a sieve and wash well under warm water. Drain again then pour the chickpeas onto a clean tea towel. Fold the tea towel over the chickpeas and gently rub them with the towel to remove the skins.
  2. Pour the skinned chickpeas into a blender and puree. For younger babies, this plain chickpea puree can be thinned with a little boiled water and offered just as it is.

As your baby gets older, add flavour to the humous by adding olive oil , lemon juice and/or garlic puree before blending.
