On the nose it is intense with a mixture of ripe red fruits like red cherries, raspberry and a hint of oak. Its flavour is dry, well structured and soft and tannic compounds are well balanced. A mild note of pepper balances the red fruit undertones, terminating with a delicately balsamic hint.
Castel Pietra Cabernet pairs well with beef, game, lamb, deer, oriental dishes like sweet sour pork, grilled vegetables, mild cheeses like Gouda, mushroom based dishes and soups.
